NIEM Designer is a hosted service that provides a set of tools that facilitate the creation and life-cycle management of NIEM IEPD’s. The entire set of capabilities includes:
- Access to the community OpenCDX Registry
- A logical modeling tool to create exchange artifacts
- Automation to generate IEPDs for logical models
- Mapping technology to test physical schemas by mapping sample data
- Sample databases for creating sample instances
These capabilities are implemented in a virtual cloud-based environment managed by OpenCDX and Crossflo. The cloud host contains a set of software and data that the user operates by use a web browser, or remote tools, connected to the software in this virtual instance. The default configuration is:
- CDX ExchangeBuilder
- CDX Project Repository
- MySQL with sample databases
- OpenCDX TestConnect (providing access to CDX Mapper software)
